NEXT week we will start the Homebrew Holiday Weeks. It will last 3 weeks to give people time to play the games and enjoy the holiday.

Consider it a Mini - Break.  We will then finish out Season 9 in Jan and Feb for a total of 25 weeks.

I am announcing the Games now for Weeks 19-20-21 so you can order these games from the Atari Store (If Available). The game are:

Seaweed Assault (2011)

Dragon's Decent (2019)

Pac-Man 4k (2007)

I will the post the games next week in the Atari 2600 HSC thread so you can submit scores.

I will also have ROM's available for each game.

I really encourage you to support Atari Age by ordering some of these games.

There will be special scoring for these games as well. Each game will not be worth 50 points for 1st place. It will be much less.

PLUS!

KaeruYojimbo will donate a copy of his NEW Homebrew Game  'Ms. Galactopus' in a Random Drawing for all participants during the Homebrew weeks. Just post a score during the homebrew weeks and you are entered to WIN!

If you post a score for 1 game you get 1 entry in the contest. Post a score for 2 games and you get 2 entries. Post a score for all 3 games and you get 3 entries.

Thank You KaeruYojimbo!

Enjoy!

First attempt, so I know I can do better.  I actually died trying to grab a sip of coffee it was my own fault.

I remember getting this game as a kid.  I had originally grabbed Freeway by Activision but was so disappointed with it when I got home that I took it back (remember when you could do that?) and got Phoenix instead and loved it ever since.  It's a really nice arcade conversion, but the background sounds get annoying after a bit. :)

EDIT: you can turn the bird sounds off with the difficulty switch!  That's nice.

Hey ZilchSr, did you end up suiciding after getting a sufficiently high score or die naturally?  I ask because I noticed the difficulty seems to cap after a few rounds (or it seemed like it to me), so if you can get a six digit score like that you have to have mastered all the patterns by that point.  Interesting how you only seem to get one bonus life as well (or was it two?).

No suiciding on this title from me. Only one extra life is awarded at 5k. Definitely pattern play and tbh, I cant see any increase in the enemy difficulty after the first mother ship other than perhaps the birds drop more missiles.

I would expect a couple of players will roll this by week's end. I know Wilson has figured out the pattern years ago so his score above was likely a practice run.
