Richard Giroux
I had these two Atari's connected some months ago. Had to put them away now I can't seem to get a display. I get this...flickering RED. Pretty much the same display on ch2,3 and composite. What am I doing wrong?
griff3125
Odd that they are both doing the same thing, can you try a different switchbox or rf adapter? And it's doing the same with the Din-5 Composite cable? Did you try switching the power supplies around on the two units? Maddening to say the least, good luck! Richard Giroux
Two different power supplies Multiple video cables 3 TVs 2 different computers (Full "working" 800xl, XL with failed memory - still used to display memory test)
xrbrevin
reddy brown screen has implications for MMU, RAM or OS ROM but for it to happen both machines is a bit unlikely to say the least..!
Mclaneinc
Any chance there was any moisture where they were stored? Are you aware of the ingot PSU, its got a tapered look, could you have used this to test both machines if you have one of these PSU's? They are known machine killers..If you used it (if you have one) to test both machines then it won't matter what other PSU you try after... griff3125
Just curious.....is it able to boot a disk or a cartridge? Any sounds?
Colleton
If you have a voltmeter check the voltages on both PSUs. Maybe one of the PSUs is bad (over voltage) and blew both machines before you tried the other PSU?
