We have also squirrels too in your garden and also in the attic (my wife and I are earing them running on the wooden floor) We gave them nuts and peanuts for them to survive the winter.

Beware of squirrels in your attic--they will chew on any wires they find and could accidentally start your house on fire if the wires short out. . .

Thank you for the advice. They are not many, we think that there are three or four. I sometimes go to the attic to control the slates and the roof tightness and clean the wooden floor. There is nothing in it. It is an old 1920 house (may be more) , no wire, no antenna, no electic light. And there's no access for the squirrels to come into the house passing through the attic, the trapdoor is so heavy for these so small and fragile animals.
Only one squirrel is authorized to be in the house, it is even in my room, it is the... 99/2 Basic Computer ^_^

I feed the squirrels in my backyard all winter with whole peanuts. Minnesota winters can be a bit rough! That said, they did get into the attic and it cost me $300 to have a company humanely trap them, release them, then securely close all potential roof entry points from the outside. They were driving us nuts with all the scratching noises and I was worried they were going to do damage as Jim said.
