Anyone collect JUST for Jaguar? Or it's your main focus?

It´s not the only I collect, and probably not the main focus either. But it´s the one I collect for the longest time ... and usually I sell all the stuff then after a couple of years ... to come back, collect and sell ... to come back, collect, sell ... lost a good bit of money on this way :D

Currently I enjoy more the Sega Master System ... great games for cheap bucks, (for me) unknown library, games in solid plastic cases. Underestimated system.

I do. I only collect for the Jaguar. I have collected for so many consoles in the past and had at one point amassed a collection very close to what you see in John Hancock's videos. But over the past 30 years things have occurred and I eventually sold all of it off. And what I didn't sell I lost in a flood that destroyed my home in 2011.

So, since, I have on and off found gaming related items and have sold them off to build up a Jaguar collection. Why Jaguar? Well, I was 20 when this came out and I recall some really great times with it. Even though I have a lot of nostalgia for a lot of video game things (especially pre-crash stuff...the stuff I grew up with as a kid) I really have a lot of great memories with the Jaguar for the short period of time it existed as a current product. That and because of the small game library I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with a complete collection (almost there). And, new stuff keeps coming out that makes it something in which I can look forward to trying something new.

It's just all around cool in my book and the only thing I collect for at this point in time. Although I may be tackling the Lynx at some point ;)

For everything else, I have a MiSTer...and that is all I need for those ;)

Huh... Wow eightbit, I didn't know you collected for Jaguar. Cool! Glad to hear your story there.

I'd go as far as to say Jaguar is my primary focus.  At least lately.  I feel like I've probably sunk the most money into it.

Out of all the systems I collect cartridges for, that Jaguar tends to get the most obsession from me.  I think it's because there's a limited library and I try to get the best-of-the-best. (or best-of-the-worst, I don't mind knocking the Jaguar since that's part of the fun.)

I'm not a completest... I don't want the whole library.  My criteria are...is the game good? does it mean something special to me? will I ever play it? If the answer to those is yes (bonus points if it's a homebrew), then I've probably gotten it if it's a Jaguar game. A few, like Another World, were tough as nails to find.

That's given me a total of about 14 games on my shelf for the system.  That's nothing compared the the 100+ 2600 games also on the shelf, but those have been, for the most part, much easier to find on average (same criteria too btw). Also I've only been actively collecting for the Jaguar for the past few years, whereas my other systems I've been collecting for at least 20.

Anyways, that's where I'm at with it.  Even though I grew up with a 2600, NES, Genesis, then finally SNES... I guess I love the so-bad-its-cool mystique of the Jaguar (and the good games really ARE good), the history, and the homebrew scene.

Ha! I forgot I already responded earlier. Must be getting old. Well, I went into more detail this time.
