Lastic #1 Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) After having collected several books on the Demoscene (Freakz, Masters of PixelArt, Breaking the borders and the sequels) I always wondered why there wasn't a book on the Atari 8 bit demoscene. This book apparantly tells the history of the Demoscene and GameDevelopment that came out of it. https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://ha.art.pl/wydawnictwo/zapowiedzi/5427-oni-migaja-tymi-kolorami-w-sposob-profesjonalny-narodziny-gamedevu-z-ducha-demosceny-w-polsce.html&prev=search Now only need to learn to read Polish Edited December 21, 2019 by Lastic
skr #2 Posted December 21, 2019 I bought this book at SillyVenture, even I can´t read polish too. But I gave it to a polish ABBUC member who lives in Germany and he offered to write a review about the book, so that you get an idea about it. Hopefully it will be ready for magazine #140 which will be ready in March 2020. 2
Mathy #3 Posted December 22, 2019 Hello guys Maybe this is a silly idea, but would it be possible to OCR the book page by page and then use for instance Google Translate to translate the book? Technically that is, not legally. Sincerely Mathy
ZuluGula #4 Posted December 22, 2019 There are no computers powerful enough to translate from polish.
Lastic #5 Posted December 22, 2019 @Mathy I noticed on this site that there is a sale of a eBook version also https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=pl&u=https://www.gandalf.com.pl/b/oni-migaja-tymi-kolorami-w-sposob/&prev=search @Kaz atarionline.pl is ha.art.pl (the official publisher) also offering a eBook version ? Well either we all have to learn to read Polish, find somebody to read and translate it to us or wait for an English release
tomaswoj #6 Posted December 22, 2019 Note guys, that while I like this book, it is focused on the polish side of the matters. Not a lot of stuff about wide european part of the scene. Also, I would say the [polish] scene related content is probably no more than 10-15% of the overall book content.
