Just been given a 410 and 810, well I already had them but the guy has just said they are mine to keep. Very kind of him..

Any Happy or other upgrades still sold by anyone?

I might be wrong but I think I've only seen 1050 based stuff?

Cherry and Happy holidays to all..

myatari.com had some listed a few years ago, it might be worth contacting them direct?
Postage will probably kill any deal to the UK though :(

This is a snapshot from mid 2018

Yeah I just had a hell of a look around last night (I'm not THAT lazy) and saw old sideboards with happys on but years old, looks like its 1050 only these days...Shame but its nice to have an 810 again..

Not sure on an Archiver, I used to have one back then but it wasn't used much if at all it was just one of those things floating around that you could have for the price of an eprom and guess who worked in an electronic components shop :)

@Mimo Thanks for that but as you say the price and postalone just kill it, I can't imagine much of a possible reduction (in fact, quite the opposite as they are rare)...

Oh well, thanks people, I'll just have the nice 810 as it is and give it a service...

The notion was to get a bit more speed out of it as I can't imagine I'd be copying anything at all.....Anyway, thanks again people, Happy Xmas..

myatari used to sell rather pricey Happy 810 upgrades.

There's a thread on how to add Happy functionality to a stock 810 sideboard. It's not step by step however, just a few pictures and schematics, so I did not dare to start out on that (but got a spare side board to play with).

Kevin Savetz interviewed the designer of the Neanderthal 810 Turbo enhancement and I think I read somewhere that it might be recreated as well, resulting in true DD and higher speed (and it would be solderless).

810 Archiver is interesting, but doesn't really add any performance benefit, and requires a fair bit of soldering to get it installed... Other than the faster format interleave, it doesn't add much day-to-day functionally, and I've found it's actually completely incompatible with SpartaDOS X. One of the highspeed query commands SDX regularly sends to SIO drives locks up SDX the way the archiver responds to it...

B&C does have 810 Happy options as mentioned above. No longer listed on the website, but if you e-mail I'm sure he still has them, but they're not cheap either, and again are a project to install, unless you get one that's already installed on a complete side-board.
