I liked the controller quite a bit to this.  Had it at my mom's house for me to play when I visited her on weekends in Vancouver, WA.

That's one helluva long commercial. Just get to the point, Magnavox! No need to tell everyone how to attach the controllers! Just write the instructions on the manual, goddammit.

One question: are computer commercials allowed?

Obviously not a TV commercial but a film that would have been shown to customers in the store.  Looks like it might have answered some common questions.  Remember the only thing people connected to their tv at the time was an antenna.
