Okay, here's the deal.  I have an 8TB HD plugged into a RPi 3B+ running KODI hooked up to the big screen as a media server.  Up to now, every time I've wanted to add new movies, I've had to shut down the Pi, unplug the HD, physically move it to the den and transfer the files, only to have to take it back hook it all up again and reboot the Pi.

I've tried various setting to get KODI to be recognized by my PC so I could simply use upload the files over the network, but I'm getting no joy.  KODI is on the network, as I have the weather information just fine, but I'd like to be able to send stuff to it, it has to be possible... right?

First off your posting your pi questions in a TI 99 group [emoji16]

Pretty simple to add a samba share for your drive in the pi. Google add samba share raspberry pi

Or you can access your pc drives from kodi by adding a smb drive in the kodi file manager and of course sharing the pc drive.
