Pixelboy
Greetings! I don't often post in these parts of the AtariAge forums, but I have a good reason to do so today: I am currently running a poll in the ColecoVision sub-forum as an interest check for a high-quality arcade-style Asteroids controller. This controller, if it becomes reality, would be immediately compatible with the Atari 8-Bit computer version of Asteroids. So I figure some Atari computer fans could be interested in pre-ordering it. I invite you to drop by the poll thread and answer the questions of the poll, but before you do, please read the first post of the poll thread to get all the available information about the proposed controller. Thanks!
FifthPlayer
The idea of an Asteroids controller sounds appealling, but the official Atari port of Asteroids to the A8 is pretty lackluster. Better to target the Asteroids coin-op emulator that runs on the A8.

Gunstar
It's been almost 40 years since I played via arcade controls. I'm too used to using a stick to turn left and right rather than buttons, even with the emulated arcade version (which is the only version I play besides 7800 Deluxe). I'd rather have an emulator or 7800 version of the game made to work with a 2600 Indy driving controller as I have one of those, that I could like I think. But $150 is just crazy for me for a controller for one Atari game. If I had $150 right now there are a TON of other Atari items I'd rather have. Good luck though!
Mclaneinc
I loved Asteroids in the arcade, used to sit on it and set as close to poss as the top score before it rolled over, sadly the poor old Atari version wasn't that great, very clunky in fact. The newer homebrew one using arcade roms is MUCH better but needs a slightly faster CPU at times.. As for 150.00 for a controller...I'm out Fair play to those making it but I like Matt would use that money for many other things..
