Happy New Year, everyone. This week was much like last week, with Johnny, Judy, Panam, River, and Takemura taking the place of friends and family this Christmas.  I'm nearing the end, I have a few side jobs to finish, but, like most open world games, I'm not going to try to clear the map. I got a nice collection of bikes that are fun to buzz around the city on, unlike cars (they really need to raise the 1st person POV to actually be able to see the road in 4-wheeled vehicles). I even ignore the "skip ride" button during the times I'm in the passenger seat, because Night City is just enjoyable to look at while driving through it.

 

Looking at VR fitness programs to supplement BS, as it seems my skill has improved past what my body can keep up with. Hurt my shoulder this week and had to take it easy.

Despite the last week of the year only lasted four days and only four people posted their minutes, it is a relatively strong one with Kangokutou Mary Skelter Finale on the Switch right ahead of Cyberpunk 2077 on the PC. However the most played system remains the Xbox One with three strong entries in places 3, 5, 6.

TWO FREAKING HOURS of my time on FF9 was spent playing that darn Chocobo Hot & Cold minigame, lol.  I probably could've finished the game already but I kept dorking around and doing other things.

A lot of gaming time is spent on my Switch (as evidenced by my 'year in review' thread on the Switch subforum lol)- it'd sure be nice to spend some of that time with a version of Torchlight 3 I can actually progress in.  

 

Animal Crossing is pretty much a static nightly gaming staple for me; my wife plays her copy a lot so it's a way we can spend time together on something common.  I mostly check my money trees, message bottle for patterns, and otherwise BS around with the villagers on my island.  I finally snagged a dung beetle for my collection last week so that's cool.  I'm waiting until Spring to dive in and work on my island more; I just don't want to update it with all the dang snow on the ground.  Also, Snow Boys are jerks.

 

My other passion on the Switch, as it were, is digital pinball.  I spent some time playing the Zaccaria tables and boy can they be kind of weird if you've mostly only played the 'big names' in the States (Gottlieb, Stern, Williams, etc).  I really enjoy how the different tables play plus all the modes and achievements mix it up a lot for me.  Having a crazy sale on the tables I didn't have yet on the eshop helped, too.    I finally relented and bought the 'Deluxe' tables, though they are probably the weakest of the 40-odd (im not sure exactly how many) tables Zaccaria offers.  I found with the Deluxe ones as well that they tend to 'lose' or 'stick' the ball in weird spots that you can't progress other than to exit the table and lose your progress.
