Atari Wifi Modem

I am not getting the prompt. So I don't know what to do stuff like config my WIFI credentials. do you have a list of AT commands?

I can switch baud rate, and I get an OK in response to the at command I've tried, but besides the OK nothing else.

Using Bobterm 1.21 in both ascii and atascii, I tried the Ctrl J and similars..

Thanks!

Sorry, my bad... the bob term image I was using was configured for XM301 handler and even without the model really connected I was receiving the OKs and "no carrier"s from the that handler.

So the question is: which command I have to use to program the esp32 with your firmware. I tried to just use the esptool and putting the bin in 0x00 and did not work and also tried putting some boot bin from other project, etc...

So that's the question...

Thanks for the ESP-32 Flasher... it is great.

However, by having the esp32 in the SIO Bus, all communication in the bus is disrupted so I cannot boot any terminal program from my disk drive. If I turn off my drive, the esp32 device does not boot by itself. I got some noise and then the self test. I guess you need to provide the content of the the SPIFFS, I am not expert on this, but I don't think is included in the bin itself.

This is the log I got:

[12:02:24]E (53) SPIFFS: mount failed, -10025
[12:02:24]!LoadSettings
[12:02:26]Waiting For Internet Time
[12:02:26]Time Server Connected!
[12:02:32]Failed to obtain time
[12:02:32]Initializing SD card...
[12:02:32]Card Mount Failed
[12:02:33]Atari WiFi Modem Ready

Thanks again

Have you tried booting off the SD Card yet? CnfgTool.atr in Root, all others in ATARI Folder...

I only use SPIFFS for storing the WiFi Settings.

Works with many terminal programs such as Amodem, BobTerm and the Express! Cart
(Which I highly recommend).  The Express! Cart can handle 9600 Baud rather reliably
where other terminal programs can not do.

In the 90's I connected to CompuServe with an Intel 14.4 modem connected thru an MIO, the MIO serial port was set to 19,200 but I configured the modem to connect at 9,600 with hardware compression enabled.

The hardware compression effectively made it a 19.2K connection, which Bobterm was able to handle reliably.

That's for certain, the express! cart earlier versions did NOT handle 9600 all that well... but their upload download protocols were good, the latter version handled 9600 just fine but they messed SEA protocol etc.... I love the Express! cart for fast cartridge loading and the use of all 4 serial ports on the 850.... I don't like enjoy the choice I have to make between protocols or the having the faster screen handling... So I have always used BoBTerm and two serial ports (it had it's rough patch as well when it came to padding downloads) and that it had most every bug fixed... it's smart linking and unlinking of drivers and modules so the memory didn't explode when quitting to DOS and entering back multiple time. There is SOOO much to love about BoBTerm.... but ICE-T sure does kick the llamas *ss... What can you say... fast, ansi color and some protocols...LOVE IT!  I just wish there were a custom ATASCII color mode... If you can color all those ANSI chars, one could certainly color some ATASCII :)

One Day I wish for BoBonICE..... !!!!!!  maybe make that ICEbobT... well ...

anyway 2.8alpha7 hides here... I thought I had a later version but this will have to do...

Didn't BobTerm have a color ATASCII driver? Could it be added to Ice-T?

Nice 👍

I'm hoping that multiple access points and passwords can be retained. The lack of this in the standard FujiNet application is kinda annoying. Basically I want it to work like my Android Tablet in this regard, where you can set multiple WiFi credentials and have automatic switching when roaming between them.

After looking at my code, I wasn't either, but will definitely add that.  Thanks, it's a great idea 👍...

Where's the best (cheapest? :)) place to get Nextion displays right now? Ali?

Yep,  Aliexpress is around $32 for a Basic model, I'm using the Discovery and Enhanced models.  The Enhanced one has a RTC...

I bought a Discovery and Enhanced model from Ali, but be warned, they use piggyship and are the worst carrier.  They through the package out of a car window an into the gutter...

Had 2 Enhanced models sent yesterday from Amazon for $48 each...

A new update: The test program (sketch) has been completed and works nicely with the Nextion Display.

New pics attached,  I would have posted a video but my hand gets in the way :)

If there is enough interest, I'll post the code...

And Yes, it does remember your last ssid/password and will connect to it when rebooted.  It also remembers the last 10 Access Points that are used when "On The Road" :)

In the early 90's I used Bobterm with an Intel 9600 BAUD modem @9600 with hardware compression turned on(effectively 19,200) connected to an MIO serial port to access Compuserve.

Cool,  that would have been cool to see.  My 800 never saw faster than a 2400 baud connection until a few years ago.

I had a Supra 9600 baud modem around then, but was running a 1040ST.  My A8's didn't get unboxed until after 2005...

I actually found that the latest version of BobTerm performs the best of the bunch at 9600 baud. When I used the Express Cart! to connect to Part-Time BBS and the Basement BBS, I noticed some buffer overloads with some of the ATASCII screens/movies. Another good test is the 'W'ho's called command (which dumps the last 50 callers to the BBS).

Yes, BobTerm seems to be the fastest and most stable at high speed.
