Tron Unit
I bought a Roller Controller that was still sealed in the box and opened it up. The trackball is a bit stiff from sitting in the box for 40 years. It needs to be cleaned and lubed but I don’t see anything here about how to clean it, what grease to use, etc. I looked for a youtube video and nada. Any suggestions from those that have reconditioned theirs? Thanks.
+Yurkie
I would recommend cleaning the surface that the ball rolls against with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Clean the ball with alcohol too. You want the surfaces clean (and lubricate free) so that pressure from moving the ball grips the roller. You can soak the ball bearings in alcohol to clean and remove old thickened lubricant and use a small amount of a very light weight lubricant like sewing machine oil to relube the bearings.
