IC identification

Recommended Posts

I found an Atmel 89C2051 in a TI-99 hardware lot I received some weeks ago, it was lying in a little box without document to identify it.

The only information that I have is on the sticker on it : "MF2 V1.11 TABe V1.00". All that "MF2" inspires me is a the MF2 standard for PC keyboards, so maybe this IC is for a PC Keyboard adapter for the 99/4A. Not sure. But is this component really for TI-99 stuff? Someone can identify it?

Thanks for any help!

Thank you for your answers. But I already have ( and read) the datasheet of the 89C2051 and no time to build a circuit to read the microcontroller. It is why I asked to you if, thanks to the sticker, you could identify it.

Can it be read out? It would be interesting for the SGCPU emulation which currently pretends to have a normal TI keyboard.

Yes. As I have done for some other ROM, EPROM, PAL components in my possession, I will dump the 89C2051 to share it, I just have to find some free time to build a programmer/reader. For more quickly, the better way would be to buy one.

Not good news 😢

Rummaging through my stuff, I found an old TOP853 programmer that I used some years ago, and I saw that it was abled to read the 89C2051. The chip was not copy protected but it is blank. So sad...
