negative1
These have been added to MAME awhile ago, but I think the emulation has gotten to a much better playable state now, as of the 0.217 version. I finally decided to try out the games, and am happy to report, most work pretty well, and are fun to play. I'm going to stick the Arcade ports, and versions here, because those are the ones I know the best. ============== JAKKS Namco Capcom Taito Not interested in the Genesis, Atari, etc, as there are other emulators that do those. ============== The JAKKS ones are interesting, because some of the games are ports, and some look like the arcade versions but don't sound or play like them. First of all, a huge resource of all the different games, and some variations: =============================================== https://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2019-writeup/ Videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/ShootBoomBoom/search?query=plug I will highlight some of them further: Here's Dig Dug, which scrolls down, since they wanted to keep the resolution accurate. It doesn't affect gameplay. I've played it to 1,000,000 and the patterns still work. The sound effect and colors are off, but that's about it: later -1 1

negative1
About the JAKKS Dig Dug, played it some more, and it turns out to be interesting. Levels 136-255 - It Includes the 'slow waves'. On level 256, the killscreen, it shows it, and then bypasses it, causing the levels to cycle back to 1 again. Which is their fix for it. Very odd, and it gives you and extra man. later -

negative1
mortal kombat is coming to mame 0.219, A port of the game to SunPlus hardware, code appears to be based on / ported from the arcade version, not any of the existing home ports. This was released in 'with blood' and 'no blood' versions, which is controlled by a solder pad on the game PCB. A 2 Player feature required connecting 2 pads together (not emulated) later -

Update on these: "Final JAKKS GameKey JAKKS Pacific Namco 2-in-1 Pac-Man + Bosconian Gamekey ( https://youtu.be/Bd1NQHR3LYY ) This was the only known, but undumped JAKKS GameKey. I’ve had a lot of people ask me to add the ‘other’ Star Wars one (Catamaran Strike/Coruscant Fire Patrol) but that’s not going to happen as it was never released outside of artwork sent to the press, so obtaining it is simply impossible. This Namco key is less common than the other 2, but ultimately pointless to own because the other version of the same key has Rally-X added, which is actually an exclusive as JAKKS never used that version of Rally-X again. Still, it's good to be able to document what should be the full set of them." Full news about Plug and Plays here: later -

I must have gotten the names wrong in my google search. The games on the extra game key I have are "Yoda's Escape" and "Turret Defense". I see them listed as working, but haven't found the actual roms yet (only looked a few minutes, so far).

I find the "tdyoda.zip" (turret defense and yoda's escape gamekey) listed in text files as working on github sites and at link below (no roms available there, just MAME itself), but not in rom sets up to 0.218. It is in something called the SL folder for 0.206. Not snap_SL or Title_SL, just SL. I already have the Sith PnP and the gamekey, but really wanted to use them with my analog joystick. Turret Defense gets a little repetitive and is more endurance. Yoda's Escape is a bit like Mario with a Light Saber.
