Prizrak
I have a Tac-2 with a bad cord, contemplating getting a new db9 plug but I had a gentleman offer to send me a cord so I could just wire it up and go. Everything went smoothly but my down doesn't work. Everything else works fine except the down. I know the tac-2's are unusual where the opposite wire is the direction due to the style of construction. So my question is, where am I going wrong? I've double checked my connections, made sure they were tight, the ground wire had to be tweaked and soldered due to my cord coming from a regular atari model controller. fluxit
Have you verified with a multimeter that the contact for "down" is actually connected to pin 2(or any pin for that matter) on the 9 pin connector? There isn't really anything else to go wrong so far as the Tac-2 is concerned. If everything else on the joystick is working, you either have a short in that wire, a bad crimp or solder connection, or the problem is with the Atari instead of the joystick. Prizrak
It was the cord I was supplied, I cannibalized another controller that I know had a good cord and now my Tac-2 is working properly.Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
