FS: SDrive Max for Atari 8-Bit Computers ***SOLD!!***

Recommended Posts

Very lightly used SDrive Max set. I purchased this pre-built online from a seller in Greece a few months ago. It works great of course. This picture is actually from the auction. The USB adapter in the picture was of course changed with a USA adapter (which is included with this sale) and the Kingston microSD card was replaced with another as the performance was not that great. I cannot recall the capacity of the card I put in there, but it is all set up and ready to go.

The set also did not include the USB cable for powering the device, but I purchased one and that is included as well.

Here is the description from the original listing:

The SDrive-MAX is a floppy disk emulator for Atari 8bit series computer equipped with a SIO port.

It works with an SD card up to 32GB formatted as FAT32 loaded with ATR, XEX, ATX and CAS images
It has a touch screen where you can select images to load on up to 4 virtual disk drives and it can also emulate a tape player and load CAS files.
The case and sio plug is 3d printed, the case has a holder for the pen.

This SDrive-MAX incorporates a breakout board designed by Steve Boswell that allow the device to be connected with other devices on the same SIO chain bus without problems.
That way you can copy from real floppy drives to sdrive and vice versa. It comes with the latest stable firmware for the included touch screen ILI9341 at the time of post (currently V1.1) and it can be upgraded with future firmware from USB port.

The device comes with external power supply (but missing a common type A to type B usb cable for postage weight issue) and it is preconfigured for usage with that external power supply, if you have an XE series of Atari and you have a new modern power supply for your computer (at least 1.5A), you can change a jumper inside the device to allow the sdrive to get power directly from it and not use the provided external power supply. Or you can ask me to jumper it like that with a message on your order.
For all other Atari 8bit series, it is recommended to use the external power supply that is provided with this device.

The package includes:
1) SDrive-MAX with ili9341 touch screen in a 3d printed case + cable with 3d printed sio plug
2) stylus
3) Power supply (needs a common usb cable)
4) SD card 16GB Kingston prepared with appropriate selector software and some example files and demos
5) Jumper to select power usage from computer or from the external power supply
6) Basic usage manual and configuration page

I am looking for $75 shipped in the USA for the set. This includes the SDrive Max, USB cable, USA USB power brick, microSD card preconfigured, stylus, instruction manual and box. Shipping via priority mail small flat rate box.

PM if interested.

I wanted to point out a major feature of this Sdrive Max that most you get online (unless you build it yourself and add it of course) is the addition of the breakout board that allows you to add this to your SIO chain. I know a lot of pre built versions of this for sale do not have that. This can work with your real floppy drives to either back up your disks or create disks from images. It is a superb feature.

The only reason I am selling this is because I now have an old SIO2PC device and a PC that is literally always near my 800XL...and I have no real drives. I just do simple loading of disk images and XEX files from my APE software and that is fine for the limited stuff I do with the Atari 800XL. But, if you want to have a "PC free" experience this is an awesome device...or if you want to do more my adding it to your SIO chain you can do that too.

I am open to offers as well, although I obviously do not want to go MUCH lower than my asking price. Either way, PM if interested!
