What do you think?

I believe one way or another I'll buy one (it will likely be underused [aka build, update half a dozen of FW or so and forget you had one] as its little brother Odroid-Go which I had very little time to play with) still the DIY nature of the offering just really calls on me.

I think they're going to be pretty popular, and the Hardkernel has been creating very solid SBCs for a long time, so I'm expecting good quality hardware here.

I get my regular fix of emulation-gear-porn from the ETA prime youtube channel, and he went through some Odroid-Go Advance gaming performance tests back in January...

...personally, I think the 3.5 inch screen that comes with this thing is a minimum size needed for a handheld. The controls appear to be modelled on the PSP, which isn't a bad compromise. N64 games that use all of the buttons or PSX games that need dual-shock might be problematic, but otherwise the controls cover a lot of systems that it should be capable of running.

Personally I'm going to wait for the market to sort itself out a bit, as there are a lot of good devices with flaws. After going through a few different 2.5 inch screen devices, I've settled on just using an android tablet with telescoping bluetooth controller for handheld gaming, and an xbox controller on my laptop for emulators that needs more oomph. That way when I've had my fill of emulation, I still get utility out of the tablet and laptop.

I would love to get my hands on one but right now the scalpers and speculators have their hands in the market and you can't find a device for less than 100-$150 (some are sitting at $200). I already had both locations bookmarked and when they go in stock again (or pre-order is available) I will grab one. :)

Meanwhile my PSP is still my go to portable emulator system.
