Nolium
Hi all, can anyone give me some advice how can I diagnose and repair this issue. After I installed Ultimate Atari Video from The Brewing Academy I get mostly one sweet, sharp as sharpen knife picture (just awesome), but occasionally (every 10-20 power cycles) picture is just trash. It is not a big problem, usually just takes single power cycle to return to normal. So, the problem surfaces only occasionally when I turn on computer. manterola
My guess: the TV , not the computer. I might be wrong, but that it is an easy test if you have another monitor.
+Stephen
I'll second that. Looks like the TV is not properly synching to the Atari signal.
Nolium
Holly crap, I think you are absolutely right. Tried to turn off TV and back on. Bingo, of sync picture on first try. Thanks!

Thanks! If you want to use this monitor / TV anyway, then change of the 500k color pot (lower left corner of your 800XL) might be worth a try. Sometimes after warming up these pots are changing their resistor significantly and this also forces some monitors / TVs to make a wrong colored picture like in your 2nd picture. It´s a standard pot, 500k, linear, 10mm pitch. Take a closed case one like Piher PT10 or so. It´s just a buck or less.
