hoguedup Posted March 2, 2020 Share Posted March 2, 2020 (edited) I have recently got an Atari 5200 4 port for my birthday and kinda curious on what I got as far as serial numbers go and how common it is or maybe rare I don't really know there is a lot of sites that say one thing or another and not real sure. it seems to be untouched all original no mods or work done to the console so just seeing if someone could give me some insight on this. even the one controller that came with it works lol. hoguedup Posted March 2, 2020 Author Share Posted March 2, 2020 Thanks it is a great console.ive played it for a bit and I'm going to have to wait until I get a few more controllers before I really get to play.im thinking of something aftermarket just don't want to break an controller while playing. In all the years of searching flea markets I've probably come across 5200s only a handful of times, including the one I own which was a flea market find. Looking at your serial number it looks like you have an early unit, the "SV-392" stamp at the end means it was manufactured in Sunnyvale on the 39th week (September 27-October 3) of 1982.
