bfollowell Posted March 5, 2020 Share Posted March 5, 2020 I'm not a musician, so I'm not all that familiar with them, but there's only two round, 5-pin ports on the STs, and that's midi ports. I have no idea if that 9-pin port at the other end is normal for midi cables or not, but the midi ports on the ST are the only thing that cable could hook up to. leech Posted March 5, 2020 Share Posted March 5, 2020 Looks Like maybe a MIDI to Serial cable? Not sure if there are any MIDI components that didn't use the round DIN connector, but that is what that looks like. It might also be a video cable for an Atari 8bit, which uses the 5 pin DIN. atarian1 Posted March 6, 2020 Share Posted March 6, 2020 (edited) If you know it's for the Atari ST, then it's likely a serial-to-MIDI cable for an extra 16 MIDI channels that some programs take advantage of. The MegaSTE, TT, Falcon use the 9-pin serial port instead of the older 25 pin serial port.
