ed1475
Here's a video I uploaded of a 40mb Zip Drive for the Coleco ADAM. It uses a MicroFox IDE controller card and an Iomega Zip drive instead of the usual CF card setup. I got this several years ago in an eBay auction. rietveld
That is very cool. I can't seem to get my iomega 250 to work. Maybe it's only able to use the 100(which I don't have) Anyway it's a nice setup

I tried all combinations of jumper settings but no luck. I guess that the larger Zip drives use the same ATA Packet interface as CD roms Edited March 7, 2020 by rietveld
MrPix
The 250 should fall back to PIO mode if ATAPI isn’t supported. Weird.

The drive must be labeled as a Zip IDE in the id label; ATAPI drives will not work. These are hard to find and are the only ones that will work. If I recall, the 100 version is the only one that will work. The small Sparq drives work the same way as the Zip. Other than a cool adaptation, the mainline IDE hd or the CF versions are easier and more reliable to use.
