ebiguy Posted March 8, 2020 Share Posted March 8, 2020 (edited) Hi, I prepared a version 5.1 with all the features recently developed by @13Leader plus the following ones: The first slot widget has 2 new icons: a Shield icon an OS-B icon Let's start with the OS-B icon. This feature is useful for people having an Atari with no internal OS-B system. People owning an Atari with an Ultimate 1MB do not need this feature. For the others, when you need to boot a game requiring the OS-B, then you have to set Translator in D1:, boot the Atari, then replace the Translator with the game and press a key on the Atari. That's tedious. The OS-B button is here to make the process easier: Now you can select a disk image and, if you want it to run with OS-B, just press the OS-B button and voila. RespeQt will do everything. When you boot the Atari, your preferred Translator will load in the Atari and once the Translator is loaded, just press SELECT or whatever key is expected and RespeQt will automatically 'remove' the Translator and switch to the game. How does it work ? You need to choose which Translator to use in the Options dialog box in the OS-B emulation section. As you can see there is an option to detect the string 'OS-B' in the file name so that the OS-B icon in the drive slot is automatically checked. Now the shield button. This is almost the same feature but for your favorite tool disk that you boot very often. The use case is a copier that you often map in slot D1: to copy real floppies to ATR or the other way. But it can be any other software of your choice. The idea is that each time you click on the shield icon, the current disk image is replaced by your favorite tool disk. If you click again, the favorite tool disk is unmounted and the original disk image comes back in the slot. Your favorite tool disk is defined in the Options dialog in the Favorite tool disk section: The main difference with the OS-B is that nothing is automatic. You have to click on the icon to switch to your favorite disk and click again to revert to the original disk image. As you can see there are now a lot of icons on the toolbar. And it can be too much for some users. So I added another item in the Options dialog box named Icon visibility to remove the unneeded icons: As explained in the screen, you can still right-click on a slot and access these features in the contextual menu. Both options are only for slot D1: I prepared windows versions - 32bit for @Kyle22 - 64bit for the others... The packaging has changed (folder organization) so I hope the binaries will work for you... Yes, it seems there is a problem with the 32bit version under a 64bit OS. If I run the 32bit binary under WinXP, the icon is there - no problem. If I run the same 32bit binary under Windows 10, this icon is missing. But the icon is OK with the 64bit binary under Windows 10. Kyle22 Posted March 15, 2020 Share Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) What if someone (like me) has a cheap USB -> SIO cable that disconnects every time I bump it, or even TURN ON THE FLUORESCENT TUBE above it (so I can see)? Is it possible for RespeQt to auto-restart SIO emulation if the connection is dropped? This is a BIG problem for me. Edit: The BBS clock starts to drift if this is not working.
