3D printed no cut video mods

I've come up with two variations of this, the first is the most accessible and easiest to do:

It's a bracket that will hold a pair of threaded RCA jacks in place of the original RF module and channel switch. Obviously you gotta remove those first but most people do when committing the simple transistor circuit. In the above case I bought a 7800 that had already been modded, so I cleaned it up a bit.

The next design is more elaborate and contingent on finding a 7800 that's got the side cutout for the expansion port but lacks the expansion port itself.

This piece sort of hugs onto the back of the RF module to provide a seven pin keyed socket which is more than enough for audio, composite video, and s-video. There's also a shelf the UAV board (or other) can perch on. Later on if an RGB mod ever comes out, I can repurpose it for that too. I'd still consider this a prototype because I need to design a PCB for the pinheaders rather than expect anyone else to be satisfied with stripboard, and it's also reliant on having a specific variation of the 7800. But if anyone wants the files as-is just send me a PM.

Thanks for sharing, great idea. I will not remove the RF modulator as long as I still have a CRT with analog tuner but will keep it in a drawer for future use. Unfortunately PAL units don't seem to ever have those expansion port cutouts.

That is a superb implementation, 2 thumbs up on the nice planning and design.

Very cool stuff, but my unit didn't have side port and I wanted s-vid, L/R audio (it's mono but quick hook up for my system) and composite.

You might be the person to run with this idea and offer a 3rd option for the folk that do the UAV install. Wish I was smart enough for this 3d printing thingamajigs.

good day.

My only issue with using mini-din is again wiring standards or lack there of and then either having to increase the cost to do the work so that a cable can be provided, or making the clients get a cable. With the standard RCAs and s-video jacks we have a standard for the wiring that has been around for 40 years with cables that are cheap to get or many already have on hand.
