bradhig1
I found the lives counter in marble craze but I don't know how to make a patch.
CapitanClassic
There are multiple ways to do this. One way, if you know the location of the bytes you want to change in the *.bin file is to upload the file to 8-bit workshop (select the three-line symbol in the upper-left and Upload) https://8bitworkshop.com/ Then the bin will be displayed in the edit pane. Scroll until you find the bytes you want to change, edit them, and then select Download bin from the menu. Stella also supports a cheat manager https://stella-emu.github.io/docs/index.html#Cheats
bradhig1
How do I find the location of the bytes stella doesn't show them.
bradhig1
did a trapwrite at $f2 and it stopped at 1644 but I don't see a dec instruction anywhere.
+batari
Just double-click $F2, change to FF, and if this is the lives counter, you will have 255 of them.
bradhig1
It didn't save the change to file. Paddles don't work in Stella. Mouse only moves up and down. Setting keys to the paddle 0 and paddle 1 analog does nothing. I want to play this on my Haramony cart.
RevEng
A simple DEC isn't used to adjust $f2 here, because the game uses the upper nibble for some other purpose. If you change the "SBC #$01" at $1640 to "SBC #$00", the lives will stop decrementing.
bradhig1
Doesn't work after I save an a26 file. Lives keep going down and walls break on level 5. I am sick and tired of this obession homebrew writers have with NES styole diffculty. People wonder why I won't try to make homebrew cause people would complain about it being too easy or you need this mechanic etc etc. Edited March 27, 2020 by bradhig1

If you type help in the prompt you'll get a list of commands. cleartraps clears all traps deltrap clears a specific trap # listtraps shows the trap # needed for deltrap NOTE: if you have multiple traps and use deltrap, the remaining trap #s can change.
