prOk
Anyone with experience fixing ST's seen this before? I have gotten all my other atari computers running great but this one's different. Figured before I really dive in i'd ask this group if it's a common failure that there's a known fix for. Right now, it powers up and all the power tests where it should. There's some battery damage but not bad to where anything appears to be broken traces. Otherwise, it's clean but all I get is a white screen and clicking. Suggestions? snarkdluG
Do you have the keyboard attached? If you don't then the Atari will click constantly. White screen is probably RAM fault. Could be the TOS ROM also. Is the border white or black? Do you have a test cartridge you can try? It takes up to 40sek before desktop gets visable if don't have a floppy. Ayreon
I don't think this is the case, but booting a ST with a connected joystick with auto fire on also makes the ST click.
ParanoidLittleMan
If no keyboard attached, or there is some error in that section (Keyboard, ACIA, cable) then frequently repeating keyboard click appears. Like when pressing some key for longer time. In that case should check cable, connector, replacing keyboard chip ...
