FS: Immaculate C64 setup ***SOLD!!***

Recommended Posts

***PICTURES COMING THIS EVENING***

Up for grabs is one of my excellent Commodore 64 setups. If you have been in the market for a super clean, non-yellowed and more importantly 100% *working* Commodore 64, this is certainly for you. This is what is included:

1. Original breadbin Commodore 64. Immaculate condition. No yellowing and everything works as it should. All internal chips have high quality copper heatsinks applied to keep it cool

2. Original SID chip as been replaced with an ARMSID (http://dzi.n.cz/8bit/armsid/index_en.php) and it is amazing. Perfect SID replacement that is spot on exact to the original. They are so good I have added them to all of my machines. The chip is firmware update-able right from the C64 itself. Just run the software and it will flash update the chip. The latest firmware is 2.10 and it has been updated to this latest version. There is also another app in which you can control all sorts of aspects of the chip (again, the app runs right on the C64) and you can also change the chip to "be" a 6581 or an 8580. Right now it is configured to a default 6581 and sounds amazing!

3. PLA has been replaced with a Mytec PLAtinum. Works exactly like the original PLA, but creates no heat :)

4. Metal boxed Ray Carlsen custom power supply with over-voltage protection. Looks great, works great, and will not fry the computer!

5. SD2IEC reader - Nice reader that draws its power from a joystick port (joystick piggybacks into the connector and can be used at the same time). I like this method as it frees up the ports other SD2IEC readers would take up such as the tape or userport connectors. Comes with a pre-configured 4GB SD card so you can try this right away.

6. Epyx Fastload Reloaded cart - New Epyx Fastload implementation from TheFutureWas8Bit. The cart is a lower profile than the original, has an LED light and a reset button. Works the same as the original Fastload cart and an absolute must have for the SD2IEC. With it load times are MUCH faster.

7. High quality S-video and Composite cable - Can connect the C64 to an S-video connection or composite. I would highly recommend S-video. The picture on this is fantastic.

It is really the ultimate setup for someone who either wants a "better" C64 setup or is just starting to get into it and wants to start off right. I am only selling this set because I simply have too much stuff. I now have my PAL C64 set up properly and am content with it....and I have no more room for stuff.

A lot of work went into this machine as well as a lot of money. I am basically just looking to get back what I had invested and pass it along to an AA member who will take care of it and enjoy it. I plan on getting pictures of everything up after work this evening...if it does not sell before then of course ;)

I am looking for $300 plus shipping for the entire set. PM if interested.
