Tickled_Pink
Instead of flooding the forum with new posts, I thought it would be better if I just created a single thread with my questions as I get back into 8-bit programming. I'm trying to resurrect an old text-based utility that I abandoned 20 years ago. It was originally written in PL65 but I've always harboured aspirations to make this a ROM-based title. I could do it using my old PL65 code but the compiler produces compound files which would need me to write a utility to effectively join the blocks together, or make some kind of ROM-based boot loader. Been playing around with MADS for the past hour or so and having fun so far. But I have a question: How do I disable the cursor in assembler? I've tried pushing a value to 752 (CRSINH) but nothing's happening.
drac030
After settinig CRSINH to a nonzero value you have to output a character to the E: - or e.g. clear the screen or something like tht. The cursor should be gone then. 1
Rybags
Also, I believe it gets reset to 0 if you OPEN E: or S: again.
Tickled_Pink
Is there any way of finding out how many drives the user has attached? Or do I have to poll the IO system for each drive and see what response I get?
drac030
You poll. Either via SIO by sending STATUS command for each drive, or by trying to OPEN/CLOSE a directory for each DOS drive.
