No, Wii online multiplayer was handled by the publisher. Nintendo never had a centralized "Nintendo Live" service for online multiplayer, with matchmaking duties and hosting instead being up to the publisher of the game to arrange and manage.

What ended years ago that saw a lot of publicity was Nintendo's own GameSpy contract that saw their own games go offline. A variety of Wii games stayed online afterwards, with Activision leading that front. In fact a Wii game or two with online multiplayer even came out after Nintendo had shuttered their own online multiplayer.
