Woohoo!  Pretty respectable implementation of the game, although I am having occasional controls responsiveness issues, and it is none too forgiving when landing on the pads at the end.  All minor quirks though, very playable, nice job on the sounds and music, and a fairly impressive programming feat to have that many things moving in different directions.

For you programming sorts: Software sprites? Scrolling background? How they do dat? ?

I'll throw down first score to get things rolling...

I would think background tile animation.  You would define eight tile cards of an object animated shifted one pixel at a time.  It's pretty straightforward if things move in one direction.  You only have 64 tile cards total that can be defined being a limitation.  The other thing is background graphics only have half the resolution of moving objects

I like how they did the score with two digits per tile.

Some good scoring info here. I like the game variations and how they differ from the CV version. Also interesting to note, you get an extra frogger every 20k if you have fewer than 4; on CV, it's every 10k and there's no limit that I know of.

Here's to holding the current high!

I always liked how the alligators were logs with heads ? And the otters that are like alien chestbursters :D It's a shame tho that the music stops when you move and you don't want to run the clock down listening to the sweet tunes. Luckily, you get a nice uninterrupted rendition when you beat a level. I keep forgetting what screen I got to tho, I wanna say 3?

I never really played Frogger back in the day (I'm probably the only person in the world who didn't!). It's a great game though.

I noticed this on the Frogger page on INTV Funhouse (http://www.intvfunhouse.com/games/frgr.php)

"Frogger seems like a decent game. The music could be better, though. Gameplay is good, and the graphics are decent. Since I never played the arcade original, I can't say how good an adaptation is."

Never played the arcade original?!?

Wow! Sounds like there is someone out there who's played it less than me! ?

I have to admit, I'm pretty sure I did play it at the arcade a few times, but I've never owned a copy of it on any console/computer so never got any good at it.

It's one of the classics though. Nice to see it on the HSC this time round.

Sunava! Nice job! Havin' myself a Frogger afternoon. Played some Colecovision, Intellivision, and 2600 renditions. I like the CV the best. The INTV one is lots of fun, but Frogger moves too slow compared to the others. I do like the fly animation tho and the logs are longer and easier to cross over to I feel.

How is that even possible?

How many rounds did you get through?

Incredible!!!???

If you can get to 20k, you get a free frog, then another at 40k. That helped me a ton. I’ve always loved this game and played it a lot. Not sure how many rounds I got through, I was so focused on staying alive.
