We are not allowed to point out the obvious though.
nprussell
Thanks for the info, all. It's a shame as I thought I may have found something exciting. Better luck next time
gilsaluki
I read, somewhere, where Brad was given access to the old Sunnyvale facilities (Corp. HQs buildings) and was told to take anything he wanted (I think I recall Brad himself telling the story). He found all sorts of ephemera like Atari letterhead memo pads and other stuff. I think he also said he found some of the prototypes as well. Now this may have been someone else. Anyway. I don't think anyone should be called a crook or thief, except the dude on eBay actually referring to his S.P.M. as an authentic prototype (certificate and all).
+MrFish
I don't think anybody is calling Brad a crook, as he sells them cheap enough and doesn't make any false claims.

From what I understand, the three companies that raided Sunnyvale actually did sell genuine prototypes in the late '90s. These did, naturally enough, sell out really quickly, and the protos that have been sold since then by them are reproductions.

You know, there are those IP thieves who put out reproductions of everyone else's IP and products without permission but enforce everything they touch or even look at when it comes to anything that might loosely be thought of as such in their heads... bbking67
This is 100% fake. Just burned eproms on a cart board. I hate the fact that B&C misrepresents these on ebay... I'm surprised ebay does not take them down. It's a copy of super pac-man that has been out there for eons (leaked in the early to mid-80's). You'd think they could come up with a better label than that if they really want to fake people out. But hey its a great game.
