Bootsector-Demos

Inspired for the request of a 256 byte Atari ST demo/intro, I thought about to make such for the Lynx.

But the limit is not 256 but 248 bytes which is the maximum size of the encrypted header.

My first attempt is a "plasma" effect. Only 1 byte left.

Both the .o and the .lnx file work on a real Lynx and on Handy.

Press a button for a funny side effect ;-)

Have fun and stay well.

I don't have the ASM skills to participate, unfortunately, but I love the concept :)

Not much skills needed. At max 248 instructions with 70 to choose from ;-) Ok, if I remember correctly: 248!/70! possibilities.

I like mandel2 - it is so fast

The praise goes all to SUZY. No tricks, just the pure algorithm. ?

btw. would be cool to see it on Pouet.net

It is no "real" demo, but I need to check.

congrats @42bs

regarding PC and RPI .

Are those productions baremetal? If no IMO it is fake 128b, because they (I guess) use huge gfx external libraries

Thanks. My very first demo-compo (after 33 years hacking ? , and no, I did not start as baby).

I looked into the sources of the RasPi 128b demo. They do system calls. But I did not yet fully understand the code.

No matter, they have floating point and no need to do a setup.

With 4 bytes they can write 60 bytes at a time. Quiet unfair. Good I did not know it before hand ?

BTW: Out call to everyone here: Archive your stuff on demozoo.org! There are only a few Lynx productions and a good part is from BLL.

not quite true, all recent released demos are there. I would not add game protos or plein tech tests etc. This doesnt make sense. I know, that your IRQ test is listed there and elsewhere ... no idea why

I learned, the idea behind demozoo is to archive demos. But I agree regarding tech test. But I think for game protos it is ok. At least a central point to search them. And if in doubt, one can always ask the webmaster.

For some I do not even know who made them, even if, I do not have the email adresses.

Some even came with source.

But at least I think i can post some still images ... maybe someone recognizes his product and releases it ;-)
