8bitDo Genesis/Mega Drive Retro Receiver

Recommended Posts

I'm late to the party, Just got this on ebay for $14, Love it

But, Master System Games that needs the SMS Controller, doesn't work with the Receiver

There's no way to get it in 2 Button Mode..Seems like the tester didn't test Games on SMS that uses the SMS Pad only

On the Master System or when running Master System games on the Mega Genesis Drive? I doubt it makes a difference, though.

Does the Samething on the Master System II or Genesis with the Power Base Converter

Maybe a seagull 78 might work.

SMS and 7800 controllers have their second buttons wired up differently so this wouldn't work.

The only wireless solution with a Master System mode that I know of is the Joyzz by Krikzz. The M30 and Retro-Bit controllers do not have it in their manuals. Joyzz is expensive but if it's important to you, it's probably your best bet.

SMS controller mode is achieved by holding Start + B on the Joyzz to turn it on.

Supposedly the Joyzz is the best wireless option on the market, and it's also the only one with 100% accurate button layout unless you want to use those official IR ones from like 28 years ago, which I'm sure nobody does. I've been tempted to get one of these, but I already have the M30 2.4g and both the Retro-Bit Saturn and Genesis 2.4GHz controllers. I don't think I really need more wireless controllers, but that hasn't stopped me from considering it. It's also expensive as hell for what it is, though, which is part of the reason that I have not bought it.
