In the meantime, here is a first look at the box and amazing artwork by David Exton:

Incredible artwork by David Exton! It simultaneously looks like a VHS case for an awesome 80's movie and a sci-fi novel. I can't wait to see the manual art and design.

It was a blast revealing it on the show and playing it so many times on the stream as the game evolved. It'll be awesome to hold the final product in my hands and pop it into the console!

Exactly.  I had to look at it closely.

Btw, the Ramirez’s thank you for the mention. Very kind of you John.

<Edit> I’m going to be up all night now, dreaming about what the manual may look like.

OK, I can't hold on to that AtariAge gift certificate any longer.  Even though I stink at the game, it is still amazingly fun and blows my mind that it is even programmable for the 2600.  My limited vocabulary can't find the right words for the artwork, so you'll just have to settle for incredible.

After spending some time up close and personal with this CIB, I must give a shout-out to David Exton @liveinabin for the box, manual and label artwork.  Love the manual layout and the depiction of each enemy.?  Additional shout-out to Al @Albert I don't know who your printer is, but the card stock and quality of the manuals and labels (for all of the homebrew carts) is top shelf.?

Doesn't look very ergonomic to me.  Could work if you have three thumbs I suppose....unless those little switches act like triggers or buttons but again....well, just weird ?.

On behalf of Team Ramirez, it was an honor to help with the testing.  Thank you John. ?

I've started a thread to keep everyone updated on the production of all the new pre-order games, including RobotWar:2684.  I'm also posting photos as items arrive, such as the boxes, manuals, labels, posters, and other items once I've received them!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

@johnnywc

...so I was speaking with Eugene Jarvis regarding my Defender port for the 7800, and I had mentioned to him that you ported this game to the 2600 (he's very familiar with the 2600).  The first words out of his mouth were 'NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!!"

So I pointed him to a youtube video of it being played, and this thread.  His exact quote was "Champ games 2600 Robotron is incredible.  Phenomenal version.  Hard to imagine how the 2600 could be this good!"

So there you have it, straight from the man himself. :)  Awesome work John!
