congrats on getting an A8 machine!

see here:

to play games from the cartridge socket you could get an AVGCart, UnoCart, Ultimate Cart, SIDE2 or MyIDE II

Several are nice and will work well for you.

SIO2SD

SIO2PC

SDrive-Max

Ultimate Cart

AVG Cart

Side2 Cart

I started with the SIO2SD (very nice), then got an Ultimate Cart, Side2 Cart  and SDrive-Max.  I mostly use the Ultimate Cart do to convenience.  The Side2 Cart is great if you have the U1MB mod, and the AVG Cart is supposedly very nice but I don't own one.

If you get a Toshiba FlashAir SD card and configure it properly, you can use a Web browser to put files in the Ultimate cart (or SIO2SD).

After it is configured, there is no need to remove it from your device and put it in the Windows machine or card reader.

It has WiFi built in. Set it up to join your network, give it a fixed IP address and you're good to go.

I have 2 of them. One in Ultimate cart, the other in a digital camera. I can take a pic of an item that I want to sell, then sit down at the computer and put it on eBay with ease. Same with downloading a new game and sending it to the cart. Works great.

I use 16G W-03 FlashAir cards. They are a little expensive, but worth it.

I'd wait for AVG cart as it doe Ultimate/SIDE/SIO et el... but....

If you can't wait an want an as close to all in one solution for carts, mass storage, etc...

MyIDEII without a doubt (SD/CF card adapter required)

If you can't wait but don't want the learning curve of a MyIDEII then..

Side II cart.... (same deal, SD/CF card adapter required)

If you can't wait and just want cartridge images then...

Ultimate Cartridge is a good way to go...

uno cart... though it's ram is limited...

If you can't wait but don't care about cartridge images, as most have been converted to xex etc anyway

AND you don't mind doing SD cards through the SIO  port then...

SDRIVE Maxx

OR join in on the SIO based FujiNet Dev bandwagon, that will get SD card based sio drive, printer, network protocol, network drive, and modem emulation (wifi/wireless network, not LAN cable)
