Ze_ro #1 Posted July 22, 2003 A friend and I were on a video game run the other day, and I managed to find a Vectrex finally (Yay!). I had been talking about this system for a long time as one of the few systems that I still truly wanted to find. As we were moving on to another store, we started talking about what more we still wanted for our collections... After all, I have at least 600 games (most of which I never play), and about 15 different systems (again, most of which never get played). Of course, more games is always nice, but I find that there are a handful of game systems whose absense just serves to remind me that my collection will never be truly finished until I get them: Virtual Boy: Yeah, I know it's not a great system, but it's such an original idea that I think any true video game fan can appreciate the innovation inherent in it. In fact, my Vectrex often reminds me of this system. TurboGrafx-16: I'm not sure why I still don't have one of these... perhaps because I so rarely find any TG16 stuff in my city. I had the chance to buy one for about $30 with some accessories, but I passed on it. I also unknowinly passed on an opportunity on a TurboDuo, which I've been kicking myself for ever since. It's not that amazing a system really, and the only games for it that I'd really be excited to get would be the Bonk games... but it's probably the only major system that has eluded me so far. NeoGeo: I think it's only fair to list this one last, since it'll probably be the last system I'll finally buy (mostly due to the price). Many of my favorite arcade games such as World Heroes, Samurai Showdown and Metal Slug make this system a must-have for me. In fact, if it wasn't for the price, I would definitely have hunted one of these down by now (Actually, I know a guy who would sell me his, and for an acceptable price... but I still don't have the money to spare). I could probably "retire" without the other two systems, but not without a NeoGeo. So what systems have so far eluded you? The CD32? The Pippin? The CPS Changer? --Zero
Phosphor Dot Fossils #2 Posted July 22, 2003 For me, Vectrex, Bally Astrocade, and - though lower priority - I wouldn't pass on an Emerson Arcadia 2001, Fairchild Channel F or RCA Studio II if I could get 'em for a song.

JB #4 Posted July 22, 2003 For me, Vectrex, Bally Astrocade, and - though lower priority - I wouldn't pass on an Emerson Arcadia 2001, Fairchild Channel F or RCA Studio II if I could get 'em for a song. I have a Vectrex and Studio 2. Never actually used the Studio 2. It's in a box in the garage. Anyways... I want a Sega Master System. And a TurboDuo. +Cobra Kai #5 Posted July 22, 2003 I'm actually glad to be able to say that I own every system I've ever wanted. It's nice to not have to worry about picking up a console before buying games I could probably live with just 2 systems if I had to, the 5200 and the Neo Geo..these would be the last to go if I had to sell for an emergency, and that emergency better be something along the lines of saving my penis from falling off or something. snorlaxnut #6 Posted July 22, 2003 If I could find them for cheap, I want: Colecovision Intellivision (Knew a place where I could get one, but it was gone when I got back to the place!) Atari 7800 Atari Lynx Famicom Super Famicom Mega Drive PC Engine Neo-Geo
SteelerFan #7 Posted July 22, 2003 I bought 22 different colecovsion games the other day at a thrift store for a buck a piece There was no system there though Love to get my hands on a colecovision system just to play the games I did have a LYNX on my list, but picked one up in an auction for $13 tonight

ApolloBoy #9 Posted July 22, 2003 I'd love to get my hands on a 7800 and a Colecovision, but my dad says I don't need stuff like that, and my mom says I have too many systems.
Desolate One #10 Posted July 22, 2003 There isn't a system I want right now that I don't have. Anything I've ever wanted, I've aquired. The only thing I kick myself for is selling off my other systems in college. If I would have kept them, my wot a collection I'd have.
King Atari #11 Posted July 22, 2003 An Xbox (not classic yet, I know), which I've been saving for. Though I did get set back $10 today when I couldn't resist a certain SNL video, I'll still have one by end of summer at the latest. Any money I don't use on my trip next week will go towards it, too. Other than that, a Colecovision and a Turbografix 16. And I need to re-attain an Astrocade .
Ze_ro #12 Posted July 22, 2003 Wow, I'm surprised how many people still don't have a ColecoVision... I usually assume that most classic collectors have one. I'm certainly glad I have mine, otherwise it would have been in my list too! --Zero
Raijin Z #13 Posted July 22, 2003 I need another Saturn to replace the one that died on me... ;_; I don't know what I want. It'll all either get stolen or fall apart. u_u;;
VidGameKing #14 Posted July 22, 2003 well, I have just abut every common system out there, and also some variations too. the ones I think I'm working the hardest to get are all the pong clones that were made in the 70's some of which are near imposible to find!!! but I'll keep at it, untill I have every home system ever realesed in the North America! Brad2600 #15 Posted July 22, 2003 SMS- Obvious reasons. It's got good ports of Rampage and Double Dragon that I must see. It's also a very nice system. More powerful than the NES in some areas. C64- Just for the hell of it. I never thought I'd get into collecting classic computers but this is the C64 for pete's sake! I'd be a fool to turn one down. That's all I can think of for now. Neo Geo, TurboGrafx and all the older game systems from Emerson, etc just don't interest me and probably never will.
VidGameKing #17 Posted July 22, 2003 I have a Channel F and a Channel F II !!!!
rasty #18 Posted July 22, 2003 An AdventureVision.. aah, that would rock! I wouldn't pass on an Emerson Arcadia 2001 (or Hanimex as it was known here), just because I've never actually tried one! Rasty.-
VidGameKing #19 Posted July 22, 2003 I have an Emerson Arcadia 2001, it isn't too much to shout about, most of the games feel like cheap knock offs of 2600 games.

video game addict #21 Posted July 22, 2003 The only systems I'd like to own, but don't currently, is a Sega Saturn, which I have owned a couple times now and sold them. Still not exactly sure why I sold them. And also a Vectrex. I probably won't buy a Vectrex, unless I find one locally, I just don't want to pay $100+ for one. Saturn I've just been holding off on, I could pick one up any day, locally they're about $25-30 And I know where some games are at too. Just a matter of having the desire to go pick one up. Jasoco #22 Posted July 22, 2003 Being new to the Collecting world, I'll stick to slightly easier to get systems for now. Being systems from the NES on up. I'll go after the older stuff after I finish with the less than 20 year ones. Well, right now the ones I want the most are: Saturn It's big, bulky and um.. cool I guess. I just like how it looks. Sega CD and 32X add-ons i gotta play Sonic CD, I just gotta. And I just wanna have them. I see a lot of these go on eBay as part of deals with everything included. So when the time comes, I'll grab one. Wooo... Atari Jaguar The toilet seat! I also wanna hear the kitty purr when I turn it on. Turbo Grafx 16 I remember being pissed off at a competitor to Nintendo back in the early 90's. And this was the first I heard of. Now I want one for my collection. PS One I went to the store yesterday and saw one on display and it really hit me to think. It is SMALL. I didn't notice before how small it is, but now I want one. But I can wait for the used ones to start coming into the stores. For now I'll grab a box version. That's it for my most requested. I'm Carson Daly and I'll see you tomorrow night. I mean.. I dunno what I mean.

chrisbid #24 Posted July 22, 2003 hmmmm i want a jaguar CD, a turbo CD or a duo (i have the TG16), a Sega CD 1, an Xbox, a sega Pico, a vectrex, and a turbo express i kindof want to get the obscure 70's systems, but not bad enough to scour ebay, id have to see a live one in the wild after that i kindof want an 8 bit atari computer or Apple ][, but i dont know if i have the space for to start collecting old school computers
bigferret #25 Posted July 22, 2003 The two I REALLY want to add are a Vectrex and a Neo Geo. Of course, the Neo Geo would have to be modded for S-video and stereo, so I'm not holding my breath on finding that one at a reasonable price, but I can still dream!
