Irvingnator
I already asked about telesys games, and most spectravision games are a bit hard to find, but I can't find any, even planet patrol. were spectravision games sold in canada?
jhd
I do not recall having seen any at retail back in the early-1980s, but when I began collecting in earnest again in about 1990, I did find some as part of locally purchased lots. I definitely have Challenge of Nexar and (possibly) Planet Patrol -- my collection is currently in storage in another Province, so I cannot easily check. Granted, this is not proof that these games were originally sold in Canada -- I have also seen Sears-brand cartridges and hardware on the secondary market that were obviously personal imports -- but it is a data point for your consideration. Jstick
If you look at the page for Gas Hog, it mentions the cart being rare in NA because it was primarily sold in Canada: https://atariage.com/software_page.php?SoftwareLabelID=
+save2600
Bumper Bash is another that seems to have been primarily sold in Canada. It's where mine came from long ago too. The Columbia House Record Club had a Video Game Club as well. I remember reading any/most of the later Spectravision games could be had from them. Wouldn't be surprised if they had been the primary or exclusive outlet for some of these titles in America as I didn't see any of them in stores BITD: Bumper Bash Gas Hog Mangia Master Builder
the_wizard_666
Spectravision = US Spectravideo = Canada At least that's how I've seen it...all my Spectravisions came from US sellers, and my Spectravideos were local. Or was that the other way around? Anyway, most, if not all, were released in both forms afaik.
