mfin #1 Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) I bought an Atari 1040STf recently and am new to using these. It boots up ok with icons on the desktop. However when I put in a floppy disk and try to start up a midi program, the floppy drive makes a clunking sound and seems to stall. I think I'll probably need to find an external floppy drive or usb emulator - what are good options? I do have some floppies that I'd like to use. Randy #2 Posted May 27, 2020 There are a number of articles about replacing your old, non-functioning floppy with a replacement. There is also an article on exxos website about fixing your old floppy, the page is here: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/floppyrepair/index.htm good luck, I had t replace mine after all the mentioned fixes as it still didn't work, but found a good one on ebay and that is now working fine.
