KLund1 #1 Posted May 30, 2020 I'm replacing the TT PSU fan with something much quieter and more efficient. But what would be the best direction for the air flow? Cool air in from the back, and warm air moving out the front, or the other way around. Atari had it cool air in from the back, and warm air moving out the front, but that brings in lots of dust over those hot PSU parts. Thoughts ?? Thanks
Chris Collins #2 Posted May 30, 2020 Hi Mr L, I believe the fan should blow the hot air out. Here is an article but I think there are more reasons than listed here. https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001010.htm
MasterMotorola #3 Posted May 30, 2020 The fan should always blow out otherwise your case will fill up with dust and debris. Are you installing a Noctua NF-A6x25 fan? I found this blog about fan replacement a few days ago and I'm tempted to try this on my TT... http://blog.defence-force.org/index.php?page=articles&ref=ART45
KLund1 #4 Posted May 31, 2020 Thanks, Blowing out it will be. That make the most scene to me too. I always use Noctua fans. They are the best units out there. I would recommend putting then in every MSTE/TT out there. Unless you really like jet engine sounds Thanks again everyone!!
moulinaie #5 Posted June 1, 2020 Thanks for this topic. I once replaced the fans of my TT with more silent ones. But they don't seem to last long and they became noisy. I didn't know the Noctua fans, I will try them ! Guillaume.

They color is not 'Atari', but the performance is! Good Luck!!
