oracle_jedi
In an earlier discussion, someone stated that the upgrade ROM from Best disables CP/M compatibility. I have the ROM in my Indus and I thought CP/M still worked, but I plan to test this when I have finished hacking the 520STFM on my bench. +Stephen
Interesting. The new features sound nice, but there's no way I'd give up CP/M, it's the only reason I still have the drive connected.
+Nezgar
Hmm, could probably use some kind of 2764 to 2732 adapter and have both OS's selectable by toggle switch.
cwilbar
to the best of my knowledge I haven't read of their rom disabling CPM. It isn't a custom ROM, it is a 'hacked' rom, adjusting a few 'configuration' values.... primarily the excessive idle spinning. It is just a standard EPROM. If you know anyone who can burn an EPROM for you, there are different versions of the ROM on the net.... including either the Best Electronics one, or a similar adjusted ROM, along with a totally custom rom by @MrMartian which gives US Doubler speeds and such to the drive. I believe his does eliminate CP/M from working though.
