Drsoren24
I have 2 activision cartridges that do not work. I've cleaned them and it didn't help. Is there anybody that knows any tricks to get them to work again? They are beamrider and decathlon
Rybags
I can recall there being problem with some cartridges because the circuit board is a little bit thinner than stock which means the fingers don't quite make as good contact - this can even be same Atari titles on different revision boards. A suggested fix (with computer off) can be to use a cart with exposed board (not dust cover interlock type) - put some isopropyl alcohol on the contacts then insert/remove from the port a few times in an effort to get rid of any crud from the port. You can sometimes get different result as well by inserting not quite all the way, or tilted to one side or the other.
Drsoren24
I've tried that already. Is there anything that can go bad on the inside? Maybe they could be taken apart and repaired?
Rybags
Might be a component or 2 such as resistor or capacitor. I'd guess likely the Roms are soldered not socketed so not a whole lot to go wrong. But you could pull the board out and do continuity test from each finger to it's destination/s.
