Getting a 1050 and a 1040STFM to chat..

Recommended Posts

So I am trying to expand my Atari collection and I may be coming into possession of a 1050 Disk drive. I would like to see if it is possible to interface them (even if it has to go through a Microcontroller communication translator). I have a GOTEK that I have yet to program but I am planning on doing that Tomorrow since I will have some free time. Hmm ... the mind boggles.

Please, thoughts....  suggestions... creative alternatives... accusations..

There is the option, to build a cheap and easy "SIO-to-Parallel"-Port Cable to connect your 1050 to the ST´s  Parallelport.

Than you´re able to use "XFormer", to read 5,25 Zoll ATARI 8-Bit Floppys to the ST.
