moulinaie
Hello, I've just changed the 3.6V battery of my TT/MegaSTE. Now the time and date are saved again. For those who want to replace their old battery, I found mine on ebay: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Pile-Lithium-3-6V-AA-Tadiran-SL760-connecteur/114146508997?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 It is the exact connector that plugs directly into the TT or MegaSTE mother board. KLund1
Will 4.5V battery pack damage anything in the II or MSTE? like one of these ? https://www.dfrobot.com/product-1850.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwlZf3BRABEiwA8Q0qq9A8Mbdz-gDqdPR-iZ4T1M1q_ZSZf_Rf5txlTiuqZeJOLZr1a_kTexoCXlAQAvD_BwE
guus.assmann
Hello, The circuits in the Atari are all 5V. So is the RTC. But it will remain working fine at a lower voltage. 4,5V is well within the safe range. Just make sure that the batteries will not be emptied and start leaking. That would make a terrible mess and now you'll get 3 instead of 1. You might consider putting in Eneloop cells. Then you'll get about 3,6V. KLund1
Thanks. If I store any machine, I pull the batteries. If the batteries are in it while it is my 'office', I put a small sticky note on the back showing the date the batteries were installed. I can't count the number of old world Macs I've seen damaged/destroyed by leaking PRAM batteries.

Amiga 2000/3000/4000’s as well I have had to repair several over the years. Sometime they can not be saved.
