Unpack from the Toolkit these files:

 

RC_GR8.SYS

CON.SYS

 

Load them in this order (RC*.* first, CON.* later).

 

Then from the CP prompt tell this:

 

CON 80

 

This will enable 80-column mode for the CP. CON 40 gets you back to 40 columns.

 

It is more convenient to load these two *.SYS files from a config file (CONFIG.SYS or SPARTA.DOS>*.CFG).

 

At least 1 bank of free Ext RAM is required for this to work. So no RAMDISK.SYS loaded beforehand, which would occupy all the ext or such.

 

In case of "out of RAM", MEM /X typed at the DOS prompt will inform you what is the amount of free banks. If 0, tweak the config until non-0, basically.
