Origin of The Names

This may be well-known, but I was wondering where do all these mods and enhancements derive their names.  Altirra, Sophia?

I think Sophia is the name of Simius's daughter.  The first time I heard the name Altirra, was in a 1956 movie called forbidden planet. Don't  know if there is any connection.

I asked Avery about Altirra and I think he alluded to a manga link, but that's all he said, I did ask a long time ago...

Looks like a continuation of Atari's proclivity of code-naming after the female children and women in their lives or even the work place... but as with all things there are exceptions, like tom and jerry etc...

If I had the skill to make something useful I'd probably name it after my daughter or wife but you can bet your backside if they made anything they would name it after someone they knew rather than me
