+wongojack #1 Posted June 27, 2020 I tried to burn a disc for my DC, but that failed, so I found this neato little online community. https://re-volt.io/ They've got an update for the game called RVGL that works with OpenGL and it supports online play. I'd never played this game before, but I'm a big fan of RC ProAm, so I wanted to finally check it out. Anyone who has fond memories of this game at LAN parties bitd should check it out.
DragonGrafx-16 #2 Posted June 27, 2020 I have the CD-rom... I think I bought it at Goodwill but I'm not sure...
+wongojack #3 Posted June 27, 2020 The files on the CD can be updated to RVGL, but you can also just download the community build from that site. It is pretty fun if you like that sorta thing.
Video #4 Posted June 27, 2020 I played the crap out of it on n64. Man that system was awesome on racers. Always wanted the Xbox one, it was supposed to be a launch title for live, but I think it disappeared .I wasn't aware there was a dreamcast version, I'll have to look for that one. Of course, 64 doesn't network natively, and I don't recall to much supporting any of the network adapters, but I loved building my own tracks. One of the 64 games that required the ram pak iirc.
Loafer #5 Posted June 27, 2020 Revolt (and I think seem to remember a sequel?) was a very fun racer! I'll have to check out this RVGL version!
SiLic0ne t0aD #6 Posted June 27, 2020 (edited) Omg, yes! I absolutely LOVE Re-Volt. Huge fan. In fact, it's one of my favorite racing games, ever! Most definitely my favorite Dreamcast game.. I played the hell out of it BITD. I may have to pull it back out and do some racing. 👍 I have it on N64 too, but the graphics/sfx suck, compared to the Dreamcast version. I suppose the DC version is a lot more sentimental to me, since it's the version I played first, before I was aware of a n64 port. I was aware of the RVGL online version, but I've never actually tried it. I guess I should give it a shot though.
