How do I play X-Box homebrews on an X-Box?

Recommended Posts

So there's a few homebrew games I really want to try here, but I don't know how to put them on my x-box. How would I go about doing this, or can I even? Also, how do I go about making a homebrew X-box game?

Someone can chime in with better knowledge as I been out of this scene for too long but pretty sure you need to have your Xbox modded either by chip or soft-mod in order to be able to run unsigned code IE: Homebrew etc. I have two Xbox that have been modded by both methods but done by someone else, either way once done you will still nned to transfer the files / hombrew to your Xbox likely through FTP or possibly by burning a DVD-r etc. Lot's of fun. Anyway yeah, as with most consoles things need to be altered in order to dig into such things. Hope you find the answers you are seeking, I am sure there will be better answers coming up by others. A modded Xbox truly is wonderful though.

I believe that there are plenty of videos of this on YouTube.  I too have the soft-modded and a hard modded Xbox systems, with games already pre-installed by the seller.

As for creating your own homebrew game, I'd love to hear more about that.

Soft-modding would be the way to go.  I'd suggest the Rocky5 method, he's pretty much the maven.

As for making a game, I'd love to suggest an Xbox forum, but they're all hit or miss.  Maybe ogxbox.com or emuxtras.net
