That's a great idea!  I should have set up something similar when I had the Saitek X52 set up on my computer.  Now I have a Thrustmaster warthog, which has the weight it needs to not move around on it's own.

Thanks.  I tried Diamond GOS years ago.  No practical use and very cumbersome to boot.  Simple old Atari DOS is so much more simpler and actually quicker.  Too bad no one ever found a balance.  I guess you can't expect miracles on 64K.  As for the other programs listed, not much use to me.  Wish I had upgraded to ST or TT back in the day.  Too much vested in the Eights now.

I remember reading about the Exidy Sorcerer some years back, a very interesting machine as I recall. So, no case for it? I like the vintage calculator too, some may have noticed one sitting to the back next to my Indus GT drives in one of my pictures. It's a TI-2500B 'Datamath' calculator from ~1972-73. It has the old red illuminated (LED?) read-out. It matches the 800's system color pretty well.

First, my Atari 7800 (inherited from a cousin decades ago) with the Atari 2600 remote control joystick setup and my Starpath Supercharger!  Have had these for a long time now, but the 7800 was my second system.  Started with a 2600 heavy sixer that unfortunately was blown up by a bad power supply.  Couldn't get it fixed back then so trashed it.  Should have kept it as today it probably could be fixed...  Not quite an 8-bit "computer" setup, but thought I'd share as that's where I came from...

 

 

Second, the brand new to me (NOS, so is absolutely perfect, not a scratch or mark on it) 600XL that I just got the other day.  No idea why my software won't let me rotate that particular image, so tilt your head.  ?  Unfortunately it suffered a keyboard failure later on that same night and will have to go out for repair already.  ?  Still though, was able to play a number of games on it that are joystick only and am amazed/surprised at how the level of detail in those games is quite obviously better and how the gameplay is smoother than the comparable 7800 games of the era.

Just finishing putting together a dual-screen setup, building on the strengths of twin VP950b LCDs + Video Processor + Sophia II  framework (and a host 800 and 800XLs with all of their legacy video  interfaces still intact and functional).

 

Left  side is the digital-to-digital path (Sophia-II) and the right is the Analog-to-Digital path (RF-to-Compisite, Composite, Y/C and Component for XEP80 and Bit3 video) plus an added bonus of being able to connect the ReespeQt (Win10) host to secondary LCD as well, via extra DVI port on video-processor.

 

 

So,far, so good...  all with minimal on-desk footprint...

 

Just waiting for that NTSC / PAL Sohia-II board fot the 800, so I can finally run and route all SW domains transparently...

 

Cańt wait !!

I hate to break it to you but....... IT WAS A FUMBLE!!! (coming from a displaced L.A. Raiders fan since 1982, they won Super Bowl XVIII while playing for Los Angeles, that's why I am still a Raiders fan to this day, despite them moving back to Oakland in '95 and then to Vegas last year) But I dig the paint job, just wish it was Silver and Black though, just paint the beige part silver (or even light gray will do) and keep the rest of the XL in its own native black.

This is a work in progress, but just got the shelves put up today. So far, I have my 1200XL (w/ U1MB, UAV, and FujiNet) hooked up to a flat screen CRT, a Happy 1050, a Mega STe with both mono and color monitors (w/ UltraSatan), and on the shelf above is my original 800XL that I've had since high school (unmodded), and my original 520ST that I got Sr. Year of HS and got me through most of college (until I got a TT030, which I sadly had to sell years ago), and a couple SF354 floppy drives.

 

Not pictured: a 130XE (with box and manual), an 800 with Axlon board, another 800 with an 80 column card, two 850 disk drives, a cassette drive, a 1027 printer, several generic 5.25" floppy drives, a Mega ST2, and tons of software (much of it with boxes and manuals) for both the 8-bits and the ST's.

 

I'm probably forgetting some stuff. Still going through the garage and re-organizing the office.

I knew I was forgetting something! Downstairs I have a 5200 (with UAV mod), 7800 (w/ UAV), Jaguar, TurboGrafx 16, and a Retro Trio that plays NES, SNES, and Genesis carts. All currently hooked up to a flat screen LCD, but I'm thinking about bringing the old Sony 34XBR960 out of retirement (currently in the garage). Just not sure the media cabinet will hold it without folding from the weight.

Very nice @gollumer , Nice 1200XL. I had a Mega STe like I see you have there about 15 years ago a friend gave me. It worked fine but he'd lost the keyboard, so I took a non-function 520ST and rigged it's keyboard (still intact in the ST case) up to the Mega STe keyboard port and it worked! The ST computer would be powered to give the keyboard power, but it didn't effect the Mega STe at all. But I sold it off to someone who had a working keyboard, but non-working Mega STe. I had a few other 1040STf's and 1040STe's too, but I lost them with many other things when a storage locker I was renting was robbed a few years back.

 

I am a big 1200XL fan, it's upgraded including a PBI port I installed and I use a Syscheck plugged into it for extended ram. etc. I really love your big framed poster(?) of what seems to be, from my research, the only print-ad ever done for the 1200XL on it's own. I have the same ad, but mine is printed on a metal sign plate that I have screwed to the wall behind my 1200XL. Here is a better picture of it below. My big poster that will eventually be framed can of course be easily seen in my other picture. A big poster of Omnitrend's Universe.

I was just looking through everyone's posted pictures again, taking in the details more, and I noticed the nice Fuji you have on your SDrive-max. I have one just like it to put in the exact same spot on my SDrive-max, but I have the XL-style 3D printed case. I already put the same Fuji's on my 1050 drive, that weren't on them yet the pictures I posted. Here are my 1050's now, after Fuji badges and some detail enhancements like silver paint on the molded text of the Power switches too. I also gave my 1030 a Fuji with the text 'NET' under it standing for a 'Fujinet', which will be installed into the 1030 very soon.

 

I have a different Atari Fuji badge on my 1200XL, and the same on my 1010 and 1020. The one thing I never liked about the XL lines design was a lack of Fuji symbols on everything!

I got that poster off eBay (it was pretty cheap). It's obviously a blown-up print from an image file...it's a little "soft" in places, but overall not bad. I do wish it was smaller, though. At first I thought "it's huge...cool!", but now i realize that anything I put on the upper shelf is going to partially obscure the poster. So, if I can find a decently hi-res version of the ad, I'll have one printed at Kinko's that's a bit smaller.
