SoundGammon
I have a ST 1040 sitting around and was wondering if it has a s-video output on the connector? I have the ST monitor and it has RGB input. I know it has a composite output. Thanks!
ParanoidLittleMan
There is no S-Video output with any of Atari computers. In those years that was not much present on TVs, monitors. And since you have RGB input you should use RGB out of Atari - will get better quality of pic. Btw. I made S-Video mod on my STE, Mega STE: http://atari.8bitchip.info/stvid.php Using it for capturing video from Atari with my old TV card, which has S-Video input too. Of course, it can be connected to some TV with such input, but RGB has better pic, and can work at 50 and 60 Hz. In case of S-Video I'm limited to 50 Hz (PAL). Not on the ST/TT/Falcon computers, but the original 800 had S-video via separate chroma/luma signals on the video DIN. The 1200XL and NTSC 800XLs omitted the chroma signal on the DIN but it could be added easily with a single wire. The 130XE added the chroma line back. ParanoidLittleMan
I meant Atari ST-TT-Falcon line. As this forum section is about them.
