Badaboom #1 Posted July 19, 2020 Hi! I received a Pengo cart for the Atari 8bit computer in a lot last week and I have a few question for the other Atari collectors. I can't find any box art for it. Was it a loose pack in game? Price Charting doesn't have any entry for it either... Any reason for this? Who were the developer studio?
carlsson #2 Posted July 19, 2020 I think you'd get more answers if you asked within the Atari 8-bit section of the forum, but here is a link with some info to begin with: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-pengo_3916.html

It's frequently overlooked in the library, but I'm not sure why -- it's a great game and lots of fun. I myself didn't bother to plug in a cart and play the game until about five years ago, even though I've had an 800 since 1983. It was released in one of those big grey (or silver-grey) boxes and was never included as a pack-in game, although it might have been bundled with some systems at the time (with box). As far as I know, it was developed in-house after being licensed from Sega.
