Intellivision HSC Season 13 - Game 2 - Night Stalker

Lol, actually one of the bats saved me just before. On the bottom row I got shot at and was dead in my tracks the bat hit me I fell down and the bullet sailed over me, HAHAHAHHAA!!!! ?

I've had that happen too!  LOL.  One of the rare times the bat can actually help.

Well that’s actually what I’ve been trying to determine. I’m very much still on the fence about the bats... you do earn some decent points for them.

 

 And the poor spider is just kinda there. I only shoot him if my life depends on it because I feel bad for him, lol

Just hang in the bottom right and shoot the robots as they spawn in the early stages of the game.  It's easy and you won't even need to worry about the bats.  ?

Improved my score a bit. Those tips help. But the controls got me a few times.  When I wanted my guy to move a certain way, he didn’t, and I got killed a couple times when I shouldn’t have. I think this might be the worst controlling/least responsive game on the entire system.  So frustrating. They really should have worked on that more. C’mon Blue Sky Rangers!!

Happens to me too. I think they could have fixed it if they had widened the accepted input range for the four cardinal directions.

While I agree what you are saying is annoying, the dying and then having the robots all huddled around where you re-spawn giving you instant kill after kill after kill and then GAME OVER is what pisses the sh*t outta me the most. Happens way too much... Such a stupid aspect of the game. Gun re-spawns in 5 different places so should the player..... Ugggghhh ?

Totally agree with you!  That is a bad design as well. So they needed to fix a few things apparently lol.

I feel the same about Thunder Castle, chasing bats you can't see is not fun.

 

I think the programmer's idea with the invisible robot was to end the game.  Some of the early Mattel cartridges were found to be too easy, so some programmers didn't want their game to be mastered at all.  But there's always that kid that figures out a way.

I'm pretty sure there will be more people playing the Amico than people playing Intellivision.  Eventually, the Amico will have it's own section on Atariage, under modern gaming.  If there's interest in an hsc, it will happen.  Amico will have online leaderboards too.

Another tip is to stay away from the centre area as much as possible.  Keep the robots away from the spot you respawn.

Haha. Nah man, I’m done with it. Boring, slow as hell, and frustrating controls. Only gets interesting over 50k. Just getting tired of playing it. Was fun though.
